St           Starting from the explanation of The Clause (the very basic subject and the predicate)

THE CLAUSE:
It is defined as:
A group of words that forms part of the sentence and contains the subject and the predicate is called a clause.

~ Note:
SUBJECT AND PREDICATE ARE THE MAIN FORMS OF SENTENCES THAT YOU SHOULD MANDATORY KNOW TO GET THE KNOW-HOW OF WHAT THE CLAUSE IS.

However, When We make Sentences Two Parts Are Actually The Most Important :
 (1) THE SUBJECT
 (2) THE PREDICATE

SUBJECT:
The Subject is the part of the sentence that names the person or a thing we are speaking about.
FOR EXAMPLE  We name some person or a thing like

Jack is the champion. He is the champion of football.
~ In the above example Jack is the subject. He is also the subject.

PREDICATE:
The Predicate Is The Part Of a Sentence that is telling something about the subject.

FOR EXAMPLE: from the above example: (Jack) is the subject and (is the champion) is the predicate because it is stating about Jack that he is the champion.

Now the subject and predicate is clear to you.Coming again to THE CLAUSE:

THE CLAUSE CONTAINS BOTH THE SUBJECT AND THE PREDICATE SIMULTANEOUSLY IN A SENTENCE. tip about the clause:  AND THE CLAUSE ALSO CONTAINS VERBS IN A SENTENCE.

FOR EXAMPLE

I think you have made a mistake.
Here (you) is the subject and (have made a mistake)is the predicate. Hence, This sentence is of clause as it contains both the subject and predicate in the same sentence.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE:
He went to the grocery shop.
In This Sentence The Subject is HE AND the predicate is WENT TO THE GROCERY SHOP.

QUESTION YOU HAVE TO ANSWER:
Separate The Subject And The Predicate In The sentence below:
The Rainbow soon faded away.
